Staygist is an independent guide to choosing where to stay — written to be checked, not just read.
Who we are
Staygist is run by a small editorial team building city-by-city accommodation guides, starting with Kyoto. We are early: some figures on this site are still marked as placeholders until we can verify them first-hand or against primary sources.
How we work
- Primary sources only — numbers we haven't verified stay visibly marked instead of being guessed.
- Every guide shows its last-reviewed date, and each factual claim links to its source.
- Affiliate booking links are separated from the guide content, marked sponsored, and never shape what we recommend.
- When we are unsure, we say so on the page.
What's next
More Kyoto neighborhoods, then more cities. If something on this site looks wrong, it probably needs a source — that's exactly the standard we want to be held to.
